Project Development
OverviewThis is a special hands on one-on-one course to learn skills to create or improve your project or business. You will meet with an instructor to identify your goals for the course and your project. You can mix and match from the skills offered on this page or propose other skills you would like assistance in developing.
Past projects include developing a website, marketing plan & business plan for a small bookkeeping business, creating a group decision making process for a local band, developing personal budgeting tools, exploring & practicing non-violent communication, building curriculum, logistical and marketing plans for educational projects. Our teachers have skills and experience in all of the areas on the right. However, the most valuable thing our students report to us is having a supportive listener to bounce ideas off and build accountability around the steps needed to move forward. We look forward to working together! LogisticsCourse Dates: Custom one-on-one courses designed to fit your schedule available beginning July 1st. Classes generally meet weekly for 3 months, although we can be flexible to accomodate your needs.
Location: Burlington & Central Vermont Certification: Students completing the course will receive a Flashbulb Project Development Training certificate. Business Plan DevelopmentA business plan can sound intimidating to create alone. Working through relevant sections of a business plan will ensure you are thinking about all aspects of your project. This is also useful if you hope to apply for loans or grants.
Marketing Plan DevelopmentLearn accessible tools to create your own website & maintain a facebook page to let people know about your project or business. Explore what makes effective print marketing materials & how to get the word out to your target audience.
Budgeting & financesDive into the financial planning needed to make your project a reality. Learn to use spreadsheets to effectively plan your project and make money decisions. Learn how to open a bank account or paypal account or apply for non-profit tax exemption or grant funding.
Group Communication & Decision MakingMany projects involve working with groups. This can be hard! We will work with you and project collaborators to develop clear systems of decision making & practice communication skills.
Work Flow & Time ManagementDevelop work plans and learn to use your time in a way that works for your business and your life.
